Night Nation Run
What: The Night Nation Run is the World’s first Running Music Festival. A musical voyage filled with live music, lights, lasers, all set to the latest in Electronic Dance Music. Run, walk, skip or dance your way through this electrifying adventure with music carrying you every step. Your journey will take you through an illuminated racecourse to multiple on course DJ stages, finishing with an explosive main stage after party featuring top EDM DJ’s and special guest celebrity performers.

What: Awesome Con is Washington DC’s Comic Con. It is a place for fans of popular culture. At its heart, Awesome Con is a comic-con that embraces all aspects of geekdom and pop culture, with a wide assortment of comic books, collectibles, toys, games, original art, cosplay, and more. Special events include discussion panels, costume contests, trivia contests, gaming tournaments, and tons of activities for kids.

Columbia Heights Day
What: Join us in celebration of diversity and community with the neighborhood’s finest food, drink, and entertainment! Discover artisans, entrepreneurs, and area businesses in the heart of Columbia Heights. The fun is everywhere and for everyone! We have three stages of live music, dance, and free fitness classes. Kids can play at the carnival on the Harriet Tubman field while adults make their own fun at the Meridian Pint beer garden.

AFI DOCS Film Festival
What: AFI DOCS is the nation’s documentary film festival known for showcasing the best in documentary filmmaking from the US and around the world. AFI DOCS is also the only film festival in the United States that offers the unique opportunity to connect film audiences with national opinion leaders, filmmakers and intriguing film subjects.
Where: Screenings during this annual five-day event take place in landmark venues in Washington, DC and the world-class AFI Silver Theatre, the independent film hub of the metropolitan region.

Jazz in the ‘Hoods
What: The Cowboys and Frenchmen are bringing their American folk and pop music, with components of comtemporary R&B, and modern jazz to Jazz in the ‘Hoods presented by Events DC. They are some of the brightest rising stars on the New York Jazz scene, who were also recognized by the DC Jazz Festival in 2016 as a DCJazzPrix finalist.
