4th of July in D.C.
Here in the nation’s capital, we take celebrating the 4th of July very seriously. Here’s what’s going on in D.C. today:
1. Washington Nationals Game
The Nats play annually on the 4th of July. This year’s game is at 11:05am against the New York Mets!
2. National Independence Day Parade
Line up along Constitution Ave between 7th and 17th street and get ready to wave your flag! Parade begins at 11:45am.
3. Free Concert at the US Capitol
Find a spot on the west lawn of the U.S. Capitol for A Captiol Fourth at 8pm. The concert features a great line up of musicians and a performance from the National Symphony Orchestra. Grab a blanket and some friends and listen to some great music while you’re waiting for the fireworks!
4. Fourth of July Fireworks on the National Mall
The fireworks are set off from the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool and begin at dark (typically around 9:15pm). Best places to view the fireworks include the U.S. Captiol, Lincoln Memorial, Jefferson Memorial, FDR Memorial, East Potomac Park, Rooftop Bars in Washington and anywhere along the National Mall beteeen 14th Street and the Capitol.
Happy 4th from Student IDeals!
